Partly Facetious: ego is there at least, if not power
"The Chosen One has acted like the lord of the manor."
"He may not be the lord of the manor but he is certainly the chief major domo of the manor. And who better to act like the lord than the major domo when the lord is away."
"OK so Musharraf is away, we know that! Somewhere in Uzbekistan, the guy likes travel just as much as any elected PM we have had."
"Because they are all Pakistani politicians - elected or referendumed."
"I suppose. Anyway what did the Chosen One do?"
"He went to the Governor's House in Lahore."
"OK that's exactly what Musharraf would have done. The Governor is his man and the CM is also his man but more a Chaudhry if you know what I mean."
"Precisely. Anyway off he went to the Governor's House and called all the underlings, the PML Lotas to Governor's House."
"But what's so wrong about that?"
"He got all the PML Lotas into three vans at the CM house first and then gave each an invitation card summoning them to come see him at the Governor's House."
"OK. Then what? I mean for security purposes..."
"Why would his life be in jeopardy with PML Lotas?"
"These guys have owed allegiance to many past masters and I think its better to be safe than sorry."
"I agree a hundred percent. But having said that I would also like to tell you that some of the PML Lotas were angry."
"What about the Chaudhry's?"
"The Cousin was out of town on a private visit to London and his cousin, the king maker, went in one of the three vans."
"Ah such humiliation! Where in the world is the Chosen One coming with such tactics? I mean this action is worthy of a BB against NS or NS against BB."
"Anyway what the Chosen One had to say to these Lotas was that it is they who are dictating policy."
"Is he senile?"
"Why?"
"It's only Musharraf who is dictating policy, my friend. No one else has a say in anything. Man such ego!"
"With the seat may not come the power but the ego certainly does."
